What is gsm?

GSM stands for grams per square metre – it’s a measurement of how thick or heavy the paper is.

The higher the number, the thicker and more durable the paper or card.

  • 130–170gsm: Lightweight and flexible – ideal for posters, leaflets, and takeaway menus.

  • 250–300gsm: A sturdy mid-weight card – perfect for flyers, postcards, and folded menus.

  • 350gsm: Thick and durable – commonly used for business cards, luxury invites, and premium covers.
